荘川桜（しょうかわざくら）
　この桜 は、岐阜県天然記念物に指定されている「荘川ザクラ」（アズマヒガンザクラ）の種から育てる苗木を同県高山市庄川町から移植した二世桜です。
　「荘川ザクラ」は御母衣（みぼろ）ダム建設に際し、湖底に沈む運命にあった、当時樹齢四百年以上と言われた巨桜を、ダムを建設した電源開発（株）の初代総裁高碕達之助氏が、ふるさとを失う人々の心のよりどころにと思いから、昭和三十五年に不可能と言われた移植を行い、奇跡的に根づき生長している由来ある桜です。
